6 Types of Moving Boxes You Didn’t Know About

Did you know that there are between nine and 10 thousand species of birds? Or that the average cell in the human body contains 100 trillion atoms? The world is full of variety and interesting things to learn about, both natural and manmade. In today’s post, we’ll take a look at the latter—specifically, moving boxes.

For example, there’s a moving box specially designed for wardrobes. There’s another one designed specifically for files. Let’s go over six basic types of moving boxes you’ll most frequently encounter during a move.

  1. Wardrobe Boxes

Wrinkles. They’re a problem for clothes in general, but especially when it comes to residential relocations. Clothes don’t like being packed tightly in boxes. An alternative to this is the wardrobe box, which lets you keep clothes on hangers and easily transport them while avoiding wrinkles. These are definitely worth purchasing if you want some peace of mind.

  1. Dish Boxes

Wardrobe boxes protect clothes from wrinkles and dish boxes protect fragile kitchen breakables. Whether you’re packing dishes, glasses, china or something else, the extra-sturdy design of these boxes will keep them stay nice and protected. Just don’t put these boxes on top of normal boxes, as they’re usually heavy.

  1. TV Boxes

Televisions fall over when they aren’t contained properly. The uniquely shaped design of TV boxes puts walls of the box closer to the TV and helps prevent it from tipping over. Many of these boxes also have carry handles for easy transport and minimal shifting.

  1. File Boxes

These types of moving boxes are helpful in that they are perfectly sized for files and folders, and they have a lid for easy access. Carry handles are another popular feature on file boxes and, in general, they are designed to make it easier to find, locate and store important documents.

  1. Frame Boxes

Have large paintings, prints or mirrors? If it’s large and framed, a frame box is the way to go. These boxes are designed with heavy-duty walls (like dish boxes) and can usually hold at least a couple (or few) pieces of wall decor.

  1. Extra-Large Boxes

You might already know about small, medium and large moving boxes. But what about extra large? This fourth size is ideal for lightweight items like blankets, pillows and anything that is bulky. Just make sure you keep the weight below 40 pounds, if you can, so it doesn’t collapse or cause other boxes to collapse.
